Frame Drum #907
Frame drums are one of the very first instruments known to man. Their uplifting beat stimulates creativity, individuality and self-expression. They are perfect for encouraging participation in musical therapy sessions.
A Frame Drum is not only a fun, entertaining way to demonstrate cause and effect, but it also encourages active engagement and auditory and visual attention.
The Frame Drum requires 4 AA batteries (not included). We recommend using Duracell or Energizer alkaline batteries only. Other types of batteries supply lower voltage and the unit may not perform properly. Do not use rechargeable batteries and never mix old and new or different brands or types of batteries.
The battery compartments are located on the bottom of the toy. Remove the battery covers and install 4 AA batteries, paying attention to battery polarity. Replace the battery covers and secure them with the screws.
Connect the drum to any external capability switch with a 1/8-inch plug (not included) by means of the 1/8-inch jack on the side of the unit.
Make sure that the external capability switch is pushed all the way in and there is no gap.
Activate your switch and let the drumming begin. If you deactivate the switch, the drum will stop.
Troubleshooting:If the drum does not function correctly:
- Make sure that the external capability switch is pushed all the way in and there is no gap.
- Replace the batteries paying close attention to polarity.
- Try your switch with another switch-operated device to rule out the switch as the source of the problem.
If the drumstick does not hit the drum, or is hitting it too hard or getting stuck, gently bend the spring on the drumstick to an optimal position for striking.
If you will not be using the drum for an extended amount of time, remove the batteries.
The Frame Drum base can be surface-wiped with any household multi-purpose cleaner and disinfectant.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they may scratch the surface.
Do not submerge the unit, as it will damage the electrical components.
