Red Lens Switch #711

The Red Lens Switch features a large 5-inch activation area that shines brightly when pressed and also vibrates.  It can be used alone or as a switch to activate other devices.  The large activation area and bright red light are supportive for people with visual impairments and/or reduced fine motor skills.

The Red Lens Switch is a high-quality, durable switch, built to withstand heavy-duty use.  Yet, it responds to the gentlest touch.  The switch also clicks when the lens is pressed, providing audible feedback to the user.

The Red Lens Switch requires 2 AA batteries (not included). We recommend using Duracell or Energizer alkaline batteries only.  Other types of batteries supply lower voltage and the unit may not perform properly. Do not use rechargeable batteries and never mix old and new or different brands or types of batteries.

The battery compartment is located on the base.  Remove the battery cover and install 2 AA batteries, paying attention to battery polarity. Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw.

Push the “ON/OFF” switch at the back of the unit to the “ON” position.  Now, simply press anywhere on the colorful red lens to activate the bright light and the vibration.

To use the Red Lens Switch to activate other devices, insert the 1/8 plug into the jack of any switch-adapted toy or device.  If it is necessary to use a 1/8th adapter, it must be a mono adapter, not a stereo.  Make sure that the connection is tight and there are no gaps.

Again, simply press anywhere on the colorful red lens to activate your toy or device.  Generally, the device will remain activated as long as the switch is pressed and will turn off when you release the switch.  However, some devices will continue to activate even when the switch is released.  Pressing the switch a second time will turn off that device.  Check the specification of each device you are activating.

To turn the unit off, push the “ON/OFF” switch at the back of the unit to the “OFF” position.

If the Red Lens Switch does not light up or vibrate, replace the batteries paying close attention to polarity.

If the Red Lens Switch does not activate your toy or device, first check the connection between the plug and the jack to make sure that there is no gap.

If this does not correct the problem, try a different switch to determine if the problem is in the switch or the device it is plugged into.

If you are using an adapter, try a different one to determine if the problem is with the adapter.

If you will not be using the Red Lens Switch for an extended amount of time, remove the batteries.

The switch can be wiped clean with any household multi-purpose cleaner and disinfectant.

Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the surface.

Do not submerge the unit, as it will damage the electrical components.
