Posey® Palm Grip Switch #760
Our Posey® Palm Grip Switch is a sensitive assistive technology switch that fits most hands. Slip your hand under the wide elastic band and grasp the soft cushion switch with your palm. Contract your fingers or simply press the cushion on a flat surface to activate any device or toy.
Our Posey® Palm Grip Switch not only provides tactile feedback to the person using it, but it makes a pleasant audible “clicking” sound when pressed. It can connect to any therapeutic device by means of a 1/8 plug at the end of a 3-foot wire.
Posey® Palm Grip Switches are:
- Easy to activate
- Comfortable and fit most hands
- Made of blue cotton terry (to help with moisture control) and polyester stuffing
- beneficial for soft hand exercises or contracture treatment
To use the Posey® Palm Grip Switch , insert the 1/8 plug into the jack of any switch-adapted toy or therapeutic device. If it is necessary to use a 1/8th adapter, it must be a mono adapter, not a stereo.
Make sure that the connection is tight and there are no gaps.
Now, simply press or gently squeeze the Posey® Palm Grip Switch to activate your toy or device. Generally, the device will remain activated as long as the switch is pressed and will turn off when you release the switch. However, some devices will continue to activate even when the switch is released. Pressing the switch a second time will turn off that device. Check the specification of each device you are activating.
No batteries are required.
If the Posey® Palm Grip Switch does not activate your toy or therapeutic device, first check the connection between the plug and the jack to make sure there is no gap.
If this does not correct the problem, try a different switch to determine if the problem is with the switch or the device it is plugged into.
If you are using an adapter, try a different one to determine if the problem is with the adapter.
Our Posey® Palm Grip Switches surfaces can we wiped clean with any household disinfectant.
Do not submerge the switch, as damage to the electrical components will occur.
