Speedway Racer - #811

Start your engines!

Listen to the engines roar as the cars race around the track. Our switch-activated Speedway Racer comes with two cars, four special sound effects and/or music.  Most Hot Wheels® and Matchbox® type cars also can be raced on the speedway.

Suitable for all ages and abilities, our Speedway Racer encourages/enhances:

  • Visual Stimulation
  • Auditory Stimulation
  • Tracking
  • Eye-hand coordination
  • Cause and effect

The Speedway Racer can be activated by connecting to any capability/activation switch via the 1/8 jack on the side of the unit.

Speedway Racer requires 8 AA batteries (not included).  We recommend using Duracell or Energizer alkaline batteries only.  Other types of batteries supply lower voltage and the unit may not perform properly.  Do not use rechargeable batteries and never mix old and new or different brands or types of batteries.

The battery compartments are located on the bottom of the unit.  Remove the battery covers and install the batteries, paying attention to battery polarity. Replace the battery covers and secure them with the screws.

Turn the unit on by turning the “On/Off/Volume” knob, on the side of the toy, clockwise.

Adjust the volume level to your preference by turning the “On/Off/Volume” control either clockwise (higher volume) or counterclockwise (lower volume).

To activate Speedway Racer connect an external capability switch with a 1/8-inch plug into the 1/8-inch jack on the side of the unit.  Be sure there are no gaps between the jack and the plug.

Select any of the four sound effects by turning the second knob to a number.

To turn the unit OFF turn the “On/Off/Volume” knob counterclockwise until you hear a click.

If the Speedway Racer does not function correctly replace all batteries paying close attention to polarity.

If you are using an external switch:

  1. Make sure that the external capability switch is pushed all the way in and there is no gap.
  2. Try your switch with another switch-operated device to rule out the switch as the source of the problem.
